Silvermoor approached OpenWorks at the end of 2015 with a concept for an equestrian feeding system and had aspirations of launching the product in January.
An existing concept had previously been developed but analysis showed it to be too costly, large and heavy; making it inappropriate for the intended end user. OpenWorks quickly developed an elegantly simple new design, reducing the build cost by 50% and the overall size and weight considerably. A sustainable data pack was produced allowing Silvermoor to move through to production.
Ralph Thompson, Silvermoor Director said “We had tried to develop the Stable Graze product previously but could not find a solution that made the product commercially viable. As soon as we engaged with OpenWorks it was clear that they would meet our technical requirements and aggressive project plan. The final design has exceeded my expectations and we are very excited about the future of the product. ”
This project is a great example of the quick response that OpenWorks can offer and the ability to supply professional engineering to product companies looking to expand their range or improve existing systems.
