OpenWorks Engineering Ltd officially launches into business and follows a rich tradition of exciting engineering start-ups in the North East of England.
The OpenWorks team is developing a range of non-lethal countermeasure products for the Security and Counter Terrorism market but will also be supporting high quality engineering projects through partnerships and consultancy.
The first product, SkyWall, will be a counter UAV (unmanned air vehicle) system. It will provide authorities and security specialists the ability to protect civilians and VIPs, from the threats posed by these now readily available aircraft.

While we are developing our own product range for an exciting new market, I believe that we have a unique combination of skills that can add value to other engineering businesses.”
A group of friends and colleagues, brought together by a passion for engineering, realised an opportunity to develop a range of products alongside offering a unique resource to companies requiring project engineering with integrated control system design. One common trait found in each founding member of the OpenWorks team is the ability to react quickly and deliver impressive solutions in accelerated timescales.
